The distributor is predicting growth in several key areas, most notably the security sector, Microsoft Teams enablement and continued acceleration of video conferencing – fuelled by lower cost of entry and more Huddle Room environments.
Richard explained: “Despite all the uncertainty around Brexit, 2019 was a great year for us and our customers. I feel the channel is in great shape to move further forward next year thanks in part to higher specification technology at lower price points, particularly around video conferencing. The Jabra PanaCast is a great example along with other solutions from brands such as Yealink. It is now possible to equip a room with high-quality video for under £1,000 when just a few years ago it would have been five times that cost.”
In addition, Nimans is gearing up for huge growth in the security and CCTV sector, spearheaded by a new dedicated division. Richard highlighted: “The launch of the department is designed to help more customers move into a sector which already significantly eclipses the traditional PBX comms systems arena.
“There are an estimated 4.25 million CCTV cameras installed in the UK as the security sector continues to grow and diversify, based on much more than just catching criminals. It’s a £3bn market which is set to double in value over the next five years.”
He emphasised: “Security is a natural extension of a reseller’s existing IP skills and endpoint sales. It’s a growing market – both in times of recession when crime increases and in periods of economic growth with more budget spend. Furthermore, it’s a diverse and dynamic sector with many different solutions such as health and safety, market analysis for retail, staff trends, heatmaps and preventative equipment monitoring.”
Richard is also expecting continued high demand for Microsoft Teams certified solutions and endpoints as UC takes a further grip on the market.
